September 19, 2008Hi everyone, Sorry for the long delay since my last email. I think it's all for the best though since it looks like since summer stocks have been headed down following the housing crisis and the recent bank crisis.
Don't worry -- There is a silver lining to this. The more the market goes down the more likely they'll go up. Think about it. If you're stock's been going high for a few months then you're worrying when will it start heading down, but since a lot of stocks have already gone down our main goal is to basically wait until they've gone as low as possible -- and then invest.
I've sent out a lot of emails for those who want to be a part of this free small group. In this group we'll be doing some very basic things such as:
- Setting up your free brokerage account
- Find out which method of trading is best for you
- Find out how to find good stocks
- Place your first trade
The main goal is to help and see what questions this small group will have and then everyone will be able to access these tutorials. I may even record everything on video so that you can look at how to setup, find and place your first stock trade.
I'll have more info soon.
Thank you.

June 30, 2008Hi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.
You know I remember when I got started with investing in stocks I had about a million questions that I wanted to ask, but I didn't even know who to ask.
I read a few really good books but it was only by trial and error, and losing real money that I finally figured out how to start investing in stocks.
So today I'm looking for a small group of few people who want to learn:
- How to setup their free online trading account?
- How to buy their first stock?
- How to sell their first stock?
- Where to find great stocks?
- What type of investing is best for them?
and any other questions that they might have.
What type of experience do you need?
No experience is needed at all, infact it would be better if you had no trading or investing experience since we'll be starting from the ground up.
Will there be any charges at all?
No. My goal is to basically help you setup your trading accounts, help you make your first trade and really help you get comfortable with how easy it is to trade stocks. You'll be surprised just how easy it is to trade stocks.
Will you need to give me access to anything?
No. You will be in charge of your own trading account. You can go with eTrade, Scottrade or any other trading accounts that you want.
How much time will we be spending?
For the first 2-3 weeks probably 1-2 hours a week to setup your trading accounts and placing your first trade.
How much money will we be trading with?
It's completely up to you. If I remember correctly eTrade/Scottrade allow you to create a trading account as long as you have about $300 in your account.
How long will this process take?
I would guess about 4-6 weeks or until you're comfortable placing investing trades.
Why just a small group though?
I want to try and see if this can be done over the web or will it require time on phone with me. This is important because currently I'm setting up a plan for the visitors of howtoinvestinstocks.net which will allow them to learn everything about investing from A to Z.
If you're interested in being part of this small group just email me at info@howtoinvestinstocks.net and tell me a little about yourself and why you want to learn how to invest in stocks.
I'll be selecting a small group of people and I'll let you know how the process goes.
Stay With an Outstanding Stock in All Good and Bad Times
The stock market always presents an opportunity for great fortunes. For a common investors however the stock market fluctuations, the boom and bust cycles, bear market, bull market and such complicated terms may seem too intimidating. While great fortunes in stocks were made by betting on business cycles it is not possible for a common investor to understand and predict this cycle. Even professional fund houses and savvy investors with advanced information have failed in this front. How To Buy Good And Cheap Stocks
Many investors love buying cheap stocks. However, stocks are cheap for a reason, normally because the company is mired with problems. Learn how to buy cheap stocks of good companies. Is Buying Penny Stocks Better Than Investing In A Mutual Fund?
Buying penny stocks is usually seen as a riskier option than investing in a mutual fund. There is some truth to this, but the comparison is like comparing apples and oranges. In this article we will take a look at the differences, benefits and drawbacks of both. Why Use Technical Indicators?
Why use technical indicators? Can they help you find out when to get into a stock? The answer is yes. Many technical indicators can help you find exact entry and exit point when you are trading in the stock market. Why Is Investment Strategy Important?
There is nothing definite about investment. When you are investing, you are actually gambling, at least to a certain extent. When investing, it is not possible to know the outcome until the gambling game is over. Why Do We Buy High And Sell Low?
Every investor knows the phrase "buy low, sell high". What that means is that it is desirable to buy a stock when it is selling for a low price and then to sell it after the stock goes up. Buying low and selling high is how you make money in the stock market. How To Invest 500 Dollars - The Ideal Investment
I have always liked the notion of a Genie offering me three wishes and me being such a cunning fellow, I would ask for 1000 more wishes. The fact is when limitation presents itself we typically want more. It is the rarity factor. If something is in plentiful supply, we discount its value but if something is limited than it becomes worth more in our minds. The Big Investment Mistakes Made In Retirement
We all want the highest interest rate possible and the lowest risk possible - unfortunately these are competing objectives. High rates always spell high risk BUT high risk does not always spell high rates. You should know that risk and reward are traveling companions: if you want low risk you've got to settle for low rates and if you want the chance of making high rates you've got to accept high risk.Short Selling - How To Make Money Investing In Bad Stocks
Most investors would never even think about making money when the stock market goes down. Instead of looking for profits during Bear markets, the typical investor usually tries to just avoid losing too much money. Get ready to make a mental u-turn. Find out how some investors are laughing all the way to the bank when their stocks drop!Question:
I want to know everything about stocks, how to buy them, everything, how they work what there made of, everything?
That's a big question.
But once you understand the basics it's pretty easy.
how to buy them?
- You buy them through a brokerage account like eTrade or Scottrade. They'll charge about $7 for buying say 10 shares or 100 shares. Plus you'll notice they tend to trade in 10/100/1000/etx not 1 or 3 or 5.
How they work?
Basically a stock gives you the right to own part of a company. Ofcourse there are usually too many shares to outright just own a large company for a small investor such as you and me. Companies can have millions of shares.
Let's say you bought netflix stock because you like the way it works, and you think their stock is going to go higher so you buy lets say 1000 shares for $10 each -- $10,000 + $7 for buying it.
3 Months later the stock price for Netflix has increased by about 20%. So each stock is now worth about $12. And if you sell your shares then you'll get back $12,000. So you have a profit of about 2,000 not counting the 7 + 7 for buying and then selling the stock.
What are they made of?
hmm... In the literal sense I guess it depends. Most people choose the digital type so they can be stored in your brokerage account but I guess if you plan on giving it as a present or if you want it on paper then you can ask your brokerage to have them printed and sent to you. That way you can store them in a bank account or something.

Stock Pick Update
LESSON from S Trade: Sell If it goes less then 7-10%.
Actually this has been a long standing rule of mine, but still I decided to hold this stock. Results: NOT GOOD
Always follow your own rules.
News is not looking good for Sprint right now. With a new CEO in December and the recent announcement that they're laying off thousands of workers is not a good sign.
When will be buy back Sprint?
The chart pattern that we're looking for is a double bottom to know it's reached a bottom, and then a breakout higher then the double bottom to know that it's headed back up. But for now I'm just going to go through the stock basket and find some stocks that are doing better, while we let Sprint stabilize.
Tax Lien Investing - Just Another Scam
We've seen and heard about the latest investing method on TV infomercials, in newspapers and everywhere. It's even said to be so easy it's like taking candy from a baby. They're talking about tax liens and you should be very wary. How To Invest in Stocks

Investor Or Financial Advisor?
When financial plans fail to achieve the financial objectives aimed at, there is normally a lot of blame-laying. Indeed some advisors even get fired along the way. But let us be brutally honest with each other. Who is to blame? The investor or the financial advisor?Common Errors In Investments
The wide variety of securities that exist today, make the modern investor prone to all sorts of temptations to meddle with ‘bad’ investment.
